spencer moody comments on holidays

so yesterday was veterans day. yep, it came and went, barely even noticed. students and government employees all over the country rejoiced in the streets to recognize our troops and soldiers from the past. well...not exactly. i'd be surprised if most people knew exactly what we were celebrating on any given holiday. so yesterday i didn't have to go to school because of all the wars that have occured that i wasn't a part of. way to go international violence. but the idea behind all of this made me curious about other holidays. Thanksgiving: apparently, this holiday is intended to give thanks to the Autumn Harvest. i'm not really sure what that has to do with turkey, but mr. Harvest is a pretty cool dude for hooking it up so fat. Columbus day: a celebration of the man who "discovered" America. thanks racial oppression, you've made it possible for me to masturbate all day instead of going to school. Labor Day: celebrating the work and achievements of those in the labor movement. the sweetest part about this one is that someone else put in the work so that i don't have to.
